Directions from Portsmouth, New Hampshire and points South:
Follow Interstate 95 North.
I95 becomes the Maine Turnpike at York, ME.
From this point follow the directions listed below for the Portland area.


Directions from the Portland area:
Follow the Maine Trunpike North to Exit #75 (formerly 12) in Auburn, ME.
From Exit #75, take Rte. 4 North all the way to Phillips. Phillips is about 70 miles from Exit #75. You will pass through Auburn/Lewiston, Turner, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Jay, Wilton, Farmington, and the edge of Strong on your way.
As you pass through Avon, watch for the grass runway of the Lindbergh Airport on your left.
Take the next right turn onto Pleasant Street.
If you take no further turns, you will cross the Sandy River on a concrete bridge and head up the hill on Bridge Street. After you come down the other side of the hill, the SR&RL Sander's Station is on your left.
The driving time from Exit #75 to Phillips should be about 90 minutes staying within the speed limits.


Directions from the Augusta area:
From Augusta, take Rte. 27 North to Farmington, about 37 miles.
At Farmington, take Rte. 4 North to Phillips, about 18 miles.
As you pass through Avon, watch for the grass runway of the Lindbergh Airport on your left.
Take the next right turn onto Pleasant Street.
If you take no further turns, you will cross the Sandy River on a concrete bridge and head up the hill on Bridge Street. After you come down the other side of the hill, the SR&RL Sander's Station is on your left.
Driving time from Augusta should be about 75 minutes.


Directions from the Waterville area:
From Waterville, take Rte. 104 North to Rte. 139, about 4 miles.
Follow Rte. 139 West (compass direction is NW) to Rte. 2 at Norridgewock, about 11 miles.
Follow Rte. 2 West to Farmington, about 21 miles.
At Farmington, take Rte. 4 North to Phillips, about 18 miles.
As you pass through Avon, watch for the grass runway of the Lindbergh Airport on your left.
Take the next right turn onto Pleasant Street.
If you take no further turns, you will cross the Sandy River on a concrete bridge and head up the hill on Bridge Street. After you come down the other side of the hill, the SR&RL Sander's Station is on your left.
Driving time from Waterville should be about 70 minutes.


Directions from Newport, Bangor and points North:
From Bangor and North, take I 95 South to Exit #157 (formerly 39) at Newport.
At Exit #157, take Rte. 11 North to Rte. 2, less than 0.5 mile.
Take Rte. 2 West to Farmington, about 49 miles.
At Farmington, take Rte. 4 North to Phillips, about 18 miles.
As you pass through Avon, watch for the grass runway of the Lindbergh Airport on your left.
Take the next right turn onto Pleasant Street.
If you take no further turns, you will cross the Sandy River on a concrete bridge and head up the hill on Bridge Street. After you come down the other side of the hill, the SR&RL Sander's Station is on your left.
Driving time from Bangor should be about 100 minutes.


Directions from Rangeley:
From Rangeley, simply take Rte. 4 South to Phillips, about 22 miles.
Slow down where Rte. 142 North departs from Rte. 4.
Less than 0.5 mile further down Rte. 4, take the left turn onto Pleasant Street.
If you take no further turns, you will cross the Sandy River on a concrete bridge and head up the hill on Bridge Street. After you come down the other side of the hill, the SR&RL Sander's Station is on your left.
Driving time should be about 35 minutes.


Coming from Elsewhere???
If the directions above don't help you, may we suggest you check out your favorite on-line map service. Phillips may be difficult to find, but Farmington and Rangeley should be easy enough targets.
