HILLSIDE SHELTER

PROJECT

This structure survived after railroad abandonment as a hunting cabin and later as a garden shed. Well, the land it stood on as a garden shed was recently sold and the new owners didn't want this old shed. Happily, it was gifted to the SR&RL and we moved it to Phillips in June, 2011.

Shortly after we moved the structure to Phillips. Note that the wide door is from the structure's garden shed era. A notch can be seen in the head plate showing the original door width.

Sitting lower on blocks, one can see that some repair work has been started.

A straight on view of the front. Again, showing the notch in the top plate marking the original door width (look just to the right of the rusty roof patch).

A view of the other two sides of the building.
