FLATCAR #271

PROJECT

This car was rebuilt from a 1902 boxcar, either #82 or #84, in the 1970's. The over-size stake pockets are all "finds" from the Madrid station area. Car got a new endsill and was completely redecked and re-trucked in 1999.

This is the car in service as an idler car for Brookville #11 on Sept. 4, 2000. Decking is ship-lapped pressure treated Southern Yellow Pine.
